Autumn 1 - Who am I?

We are buzzing with excitement as we welcome our Nursery children back to Bumblebee Class! Our little ones have been very busy exploring their new environment, getting to know their friendly teachers, and making new friends. It's been a delightful start to the school year as the children discover the joys of learning through play, creativity, and outdoor adventures.

This week we read ‘Happy To Be Me’ and thought about what made us special. The children have started to make their self-portrait and spoke about what they could see when looking in the mirror.

This week we were busy reading the book ‘So Much’. We played guess the baby with the pictures that were sent in and thought about why we love our own families so much!

This week we read the book ‘My Mum and Dad Make me Laugh’. We spoke about our own families and how they make us laugh! In mathematics we looked at colour and how we can mix them to make other colours.

This week we were very busy as we had our trip to Chennestone! While the planetarium didn’t work, we still has a fantastic time playing on their new climbing frame. Back in class we were busy learning about colours and shapes. This week we also had a focus on teeth and why we brush them. We also had a fantastic dress up day on the Friday.

This week we have read ‘Melissa's Octopus and Other Unsuitable Pets ‘by Charlotte Voake. We thought about what animals would make a good pet and what ones would not. We even had a go at making them. We also thought about what foods are healthy and which ones are saved as treats. We played vets and thought about how we can help animals.
