Hot meals cooked in our kitchen are served from 12.00 noon in the school hall.  We do encourage all children to eat a school lunch. You can either pay on a weekly - £9.50 per week (£1.90 per day) - or half-termly basis.  Please put all monies in an envelope clearly marked with your child's name and class and hand in to the office.  All cheques should be made payable to Surrey County Council. Due to new directives by Surrey we have been asked to remind those having school dinners that pre-payment of school meals is required either on a weekly or half-termly basis prior to the start of the week or half term. Surrey also requires 1 week's notice if your child wishes to change from school dinners to packed lunches or vice versa. You can also pay online by going onto www.surreycc.gov.uk/schoolmeals .

To find more about the school lunch service please visit www.myschoollunch.co.uk.

Alternatively, your child may bring a packed lunch from home, which will be eaten in the school hall. We encourage packed lunches to contain healthy snacks, such as fruit. Please make sure that you send a drink with your child’s packed lunch, this should be water or fruit juice.

We are very lucky to have all our meals cooked from scratch on site. Our 2 cooks, Mrs Brabrook and Mrs Curry, prepare wonderful meals which are brought to the tables and served up by our Year 2 table monitors. All the year groups mix together so that reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can share their meal times.

During the first half term parents have the opportunity to come and try the school lunch. Keep an eye open in the newsletter for dates and times for your child's class.

As many of you are aware, television programs have focused attention on the quality of school meals and their direct effect on children's future health, concentration and the rate of learning. A nutritious, quality and pleasurable school lunchtime is something we offer to all children at Beauclerc.

We, as a school, wish to serve school lunches at Beauclerc which exceed the current Government guidelines.

We are most fortunate at the school to have a highly experienced Head cook, who is already committed to providing quality school lunches.  At Beauclerc we offer a single choice menu which includes a main course (plus a vegetarian option). We encouraged all our children to "try" all their school meal and their free fruit at break times.

Our team of lunchtime supervisors monitor how much lunch children are eating and we will ensure you are informed if your child is consistently struggling to finish their lunch.

Please note that we have children in school who are allergic to nuts and therefore we are a nut free school.

The Food Standards Agency produce information on healthy eating for children including a Healthy Plate which is worth taking a look at.
