WELCOME TO PURPLE CLASS
Hello from Purple class
We are the
nursery class here at Beauclerc School.
Our teacher is called Mrs Clennell and Miss
Griffiths and Mrs Sibthorpe also look after us in
the nursery. There
are two sessions in a day for the nursery children
and there are 26 children in each session. We stay at school for 2 and a
half hours each day and WE LOVE COMING TO SCHOOL.
In our classroom we have lots of different areas where we can explore a variety of subjects. We have a big art and craft area with lots of modelling, painting and collage materials. Miss Baskerville loves doing art work and making a mess. We also have a lovely role play area which changes each half term. We have lots of fun in here dressing up and using props.
We have begun to use computers on our own and we are learning how to use the computer area. We have been exploring lots of different programs and developing our mouse control.
We
have had lots of fun using Colour Magic to draw
'Ourselves'. We have also started using the
interactive whiteboard.
Also we have begun to explore our Maths area. There are lots of things to do here and if we complete a task we get a special brain star. We are learning to talk about the work we are doing in class. When we work hard and learn something we get 'brain stars' and stickers. That makes us happy.
We
have a big playground filled with lots of fun things
to do. There is a big sand pit for digging, a play
house, water tray and lots of fun things to explore.
We have a big track for cars and bikes and we are learning about simple road rules. We have a little nature garden area and we can go there to make music, paint leaf prints and explore bugs and their homes.
This year we are going to all decide together on what animal we would like to sponsor. We will have a picture of our sponsored animal in our classroom. He will even get to meet Spike! - he is our friend in class and helps us in our work.
We
would like to also thank all the mummies and helpers
who have already offered to come and help us. Our
nursery is better with your help.
