Beauclerc PTA Newsletter January 2010
A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to you all from the PTA.
This is the first PTA newsletter of 2010 and we would like to start by remembering the events held during last term which helped to raise more than enough money for the cost of the coaches which took all of the children from Beauclerc out for their incredibly enjoyable Christmas Pantomime ‘Cinderella.’
The Very First ‘Beauclerc Halloween Disco’ was a great success and was enjoyed by all.
This was followed by our ‘Spooky Cake Sale’ which raised £60 in just 20 minutes! The profits of all cake sales are always matched by the PTA.
The ‘Guy Fawkes Games’ were great fun, the children had a wonderful day and we raised over £400 of sponsorship money.
Our ‘Christmas Market’ turned out to be a wonderful evening and although the initial idea of an ‘Outdoor Market’ had to be nipped in the bud due to weeks and weeks of very wet weather, you could not move in the school hall for very happy and Christmas Spirited Children, Siblings, Parents, Grandparents, outside visitors and many others! We were actually very blessed with a dry evening so could enjoy an outside BBQ, Mulled wine stall and Hot Chestnuts. We managed to raise £650 which we were all very, very pleased about.
And finally, our ‘Christmas Disco’ was as usual a fun filled night! ‘Tiny Twisters’ were amazing as they always are and kept the children and parents entertained all night! We also had some amazing raffle prizes which proved to be very popular!
£100 given to all Teachers!
The PTA was also very pleased and happy to be able to offer each of the teachers £100 to spend on whatever they thought was necessary for their class. Please feel free as parents to ask your children’s teacher what they decided to spend their money on.
Up and coming events for this term
We have just had the first ‘Cake Sale’ of 2010 from Blue & Green Class this week and judging by the crowds of hungry children they probably made a very good profit!
The next cake sale will be on Thursday 11th February which will be held by Red and Yellow Class. Please remember, all cake sale profits are matched by the PTA!
Cultural Arts Week runs from Monday 18th January – Friday 22nd February.
This year the Children will be exploring and finding out all about India! They will be involved in a wide range of activities and will take part in all different kinds of workshops, exploring and finding out more about this fascinating country! The PTA is proud to be able to give £300 for the cost of this week. We hope the children have an amazing and enjoyable week!
We of course have our Fun & Silly ‘Pancake Races’ in February which always raise lots of money through Sponsorship. The Children really enjoy this day and of course they get to eat yummy pancakes!
Finally, the PTA would like to hold another ‘Parents & Teachers Quiz Night’ in February. This would include a ‘Fish n’ Chip’ Supper and if anything like last year’s Quiz Night, plenty of silliness!! Watch this space for dates!
Well, this wraps it up for this newsletter. If you have any questions for the PTA, have any ideas or wish to volunteer for any events, please come along to any of the next PTA meetings were you will be very welcome!
Kind regards
Kate Simmons
